I thoroughly enjoyed painting this handsome fella, as he helped me to recall when we moved as a family to Western Australia nearly 19 years ago. We woke up at our home in Stoneville and heard the iconic kookaburra laugh one morning and said, "I didn't know there were monkeys in Australia!" In both English and Noongar languages, the name Kookaburra, or Kaa-kaa, is onomatopoeic of it's call.
This is an original watercolour painting, colour printed onto 300gsm paper. Each print will be signed and numbered, then packaged using recyclable and compostable materials.
