This boobook owl was a challenge for me. I used up three sheets of cotton paper before arriving at a start point I was happy with. Now that it's finished, he's one of my favourites. The word "Boobook" originates from the Wiradjuri name for the owl , "Buc-buc." In Nyungar language here in Perth it's called "Googoomit" or "Kukumat." In all of these languages, the owl is named after it's call.
This is an original watercolour painting, colour printed onto 300gsm paper. Each print will be signed and numbered, then packaged using recyclable and compostable materials.
