This is a mating pair of Rainbow Bee Eaters, known as Birin Birin to Noongar people. These birds have a sweet courtship ritual where the male brings food to the female as a sort of gift (which seems to me like a reliable strategy). I was recently told that they nest in sandy burrows, so watch your step while bush walking during the warmer months.
